A thread on Apple Support Communities, the
board that provides psychological relief through the open expression of
occasional dismay from using Apple products, indicates that Apple has a
major bug to fix in iOS 7.
A topic titled “ios7 keeps refreshing apps after switching”
reveals that Apple’s flat new software suffers from a bug that affects
multitasking, in that it refreshes the apps as the user switches through
them.
Thread starter sjmawer explains it best:
“I dont know if this is a new ‘feature,’ but it's really annoying. If i
have, say, an open webpage in Safari, and say i've scrolled down the
page and zoomed in to a section i'm interested in, then switch to Mail
to get some info, and then switch back to the webpage, the webpage will
refresh and take me back to the top. It's REALLY annoying. Why can't it
just stay where it was, like in ios6??”
Others quickly chimed in to confirm that the issue is, indeed,
widespread. Such a bug mostly affects gamers and online shoppers, as
evidenced by another user responding to sjmawer.
“Yes. I have the same problem,” writes this customer, identified as
toddnsf. “It is a big problem for me. For instance, if I am entering
information on some webforms, and I have to go to another app say, to
find an address to put on the form, when I come back, the we page
refreshes and I have lost everything I typed.”
Some users tried to work around the issue but to no avail. The topic
remains “unanswered” (in accordance with Apple’s system which allows
customers to fix their own woes if they can), and it seems a bug fix is
in order.
Apple is known to be testing iOS 7.1 builds internally, but it is
unclear when the company plans to deploy the software. It could be this
week, next week, or next year, for all we know.
